Perfect Your Look: Makeup Tips By Bobbi Brown

Bobbi’s Makeup Lessons Our Treat. Book your lesson today at the Bobbi Brown Studio and learn all Bobbi’s latest tips and techniques.

Step 1 Moisturizer - Moisturizer is the key to keeping skin both hydrated and fresh . It also ensures that concealer and foundation go on smoothly and evenly.

Step 2 Corrector& Concealer - For very dark circles or days when you need extra coverage, start with a Corrector to brighten and neutralize discoloration under the eyes. Use a Concealer Brush to apply  Corrector as close as possible to the lashline, and also on the innermost corner of the eye. Gently blend the Corrector with your fingers. Next, layer a yellow-toned  Creamy Concealer  one shade lighter than your skin tone directly over the Corrector.

Step 3 Foundation - Swatch a few shades of yellow-toned foundation on the side of your face; the shade that disappears is the right one. Double-check this shade on your forehead, as skin is sometimes darker there.Spot-apply foundation where skin needs to be evened out - around the nose and mouth where there is often redness - using your fingers or a Makeup Sponge. For all-over coverage , use a Foundation Brush to apply and blend foundation.

Step 4 Powder - For crease-free, long wear, apply Loose Powder over concealer using an Eye Blender Brush or Mini Powder Puff. Apply powder to the rest of your face using a Powder Puff or Powder Brush.

Step 5 Bronzer & Blush - To add a warm tint to skin, dust Bronzing Powder over cheeks forehead, nose, chin and neck using the Bronzer Brush. Smile and dust a neutral shade of Blush on the apples of cheeks with the Blush Brush. Blend up towards the hairline, then downwards to soften color. Layer a pop of bright Blush (applied just on the apples of cheeks) over the neutral shade for a longer lasting look.

Step 6 Lipstick & Liner - Use the natural color of your lips as a guide to find your perfect nude shade. The right shade will enhance your own color. For natural-looking definition , line lips with Lip Liner after applying lip color. Use the Lip Brush to soften and blend any hard edges.

Step 7 Brow - For the most natural look, define brows with Eye Shadow that matches your hair color; use the Eye Brow Brush or Eye Definer Brush (if you have sparse brows) to apply shadow. Begin at the inner corner of the brow and follow its natural shape using light, feathery strokes. If you have unruly brows, use a brush-on formula like Natural Brow Shaper to define and control them.

Step 8 Eye Shadow - Sweep a light Eye Shadow color from lashline to browbone using the Eye Shadow Brush. Dust a medium Eye Shadow color on the lower lid, up to the crease, using the Eye Shadow Brush.

Step 9 Eye Liner - Line the upper lashline with a dark Eye Shadow color applied with the Eyeliner Brush. For a longer-lasting look, dampen brush before dipping into shadow. Or, use Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner with the Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush. If you also line the lower lashline, make sure top and bottom liner meet at the outer corner of the eye.

Step 10 Mascara - If you choose to curl lashes, be sure to do this before applying mascara; curling lashes after mascara makes them more prone to breakage.Apply 2 to 3 coats of mascara, brushing from bases of lashes to tips. Roll the wand as you go to separate lashes and avoid clumps.
